Not so different, really

Under Different Stars - Amy A. Bartol

A fun little YA fantasy romance. Reminds me of Flash Gordon with its silly fantasy world that is different when the author wants to highlight the differences, otherwise similar in every conceivable way. I enjoyed Kricket, the main character - strong, stubborn, intelligent. Too bad that whole thing is compromised with a silly romance (which is probably my own personal disappointment - the ladies will love the hunky alien fellows).

I was disappointed in Kate Rudd's narration. Beginning to wonder if Fault on Our Stars was her zenith, that this effort is her clunky norm.
